…an informative and engaging book to teach young readers about our wonderful K-9 heroes. Told in simple language that young readers can easily follow, the author shares anecdotes concerning some real police dogs and what they do best. She includes photographs of these dogs at work and explains how they are trained and how they have to be regularly re-trained to keep their skills sharp. She discusses which dog breeds are best suited for each type of assignment and describes and illustrates the uniforms worn to identify them as police dogs. Sometimes their uniforms are specially made to protect them from danger.
