The Hall of Fame Inductee Is…
I’m so excited to announce that my son’s horse, Rimfire (CBMF No Exceptions), is the 2026 Inductee into the Connecticut Morgan Horse Association Hall of Fame!
Rimfire was nominated by his trainer, Danielle Neidlinger of Lingering Hills Stable, last fall. Over the winter, the voting committee met, and when the ballots were counted, Rimfire was, by unanimous vote (!), the horse selected. Only one horse per year is selected, so the fact that Rimmie was the horse selected is such a huge honor.
Beyond Rimfire’s show ring wins, and the two children’s books that he stars in (The Five-Dollar Horse and Rimfire: The Barrel Racing Morgan Horse), what really impressed the voting committee was how this Morgan so easily transitioned to being a walk/trot show horse as well as an Academy horse. For those not familiar with the term, the academy division is for riders who have never entered a Class A horse show and are just starting their riding careers. Nerves and uncertainty abound, and Rimfire took those timid, nervous riders and turned them into blue-ribbon riders.
The formal induction will happen on June 5, 2026, during the evening session of the Connecticut Morgan Horse Show in West Springfield, MA. After the evening session, there will be a dinner/party hosted by Willow Bend Morgans (us!) If you live anywhere near West Springfield, please join us to celebrate Rimfire.
